The Interview tells us about a talk show producer, Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) and a host, Dave Skylark (James Franco) that in a mission to kill North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.
It begins with an interview with eminem, where eminem stated that he's a gay. Then there's call from Sook-yin Park, a North Korean propagandist that ask Aaron to go to China to discuss the interview with Kim Jong-un who is a fan of Skylark Tonight. After Aaron back to America, a CIA Agent comes and proposes that Dave and Aaron assassinate Kim using a transdermal strip that will expose Kim to ricin via handshake and they agree. Then they go to North Korean where Dave's stupidity makes one of Kim's bodyguard eat the ricin strip. This makes Aaron has to go out and take the new ricin strip sent by Agent Lacey where he is forced to hide the package in his ass. After that Dave spend his day with Kim who is has similar story with him. After the day, Dave want to abort the mission, but the he knows that Kim is really someone who will murder peoples to prove himself. Dave also find that the gorcery is a fake. This makes Dave want to continue their mission. Then he meets Aaron and Sook-yin Park, they make a plan to prove that Kim Jong-un is not a god to North Korean people by interviewing him. This plan is worked, then they escape the place using a tank and in the end they kill the North Korean leader.
Honestly, this movie has many potentials to be funny, but in the end of the movie I don't really find it funny. There's so many forced joke in this. If you want to watch the trailer, here it is.
